22 Pre-Amp & 2 x II Power Amps - Boxed

Boxed - with Quad service history, here is a beautiful example of the classic Quad 22 valve system (22 pre-amp and 2 x II power amps). The original owner had this regularly serviced by Quad in Huntingdon. The last service was 10 years ago and it was very shortly after replaced with a 77 system. Because this had been left unused for more than 9 years we wired it up and gently woke it up with our variac. We ran this beautiful system (along with its matching FM1 and AM2 tuners) for an entire afternoon and can confirm that it performs flawlessly and sounds exactly as it should - absolutely beautiful.

The output valves are GEC KT66, along with 2 x Mullard GZ32 and 4 x EF86. The valves in the pre-amp are all Mullard.

This system has had an easy life in the care of its very fussy original owner. Most importantly, there is no evidence of any leaking black tar which is often seen seeping from the bottom of the transformers and a sure sign of previous misuse and overheating. The pre-amp is in very nice condition.

The pre-amp comes with its P.U. and Tape Adaptor pods and the system comes with original user manual and circuit diagrams and mains cable.
