The Original Classic

Here is the ‘Plus’ version of the first generation original Arcam Alpha CD - The model that really caused waves in the Hi-Fi world when it was unveiled in the early 1990’s.

Designed around the legendary Philips TDA1541A DA converter (see picture 16) the Alpha and Alpha ‘Plus’ CD players received rave reviews from all the hi-fi press. Along with the original Alpha integrated amplifier, these early 90’s products were a big factor in establishing the Arcam brand worldwide.

This one is in excellent condition and full & perfect working order.

Currently set for 240 volts mains, conversion to 100, 110 & 220 volts is a straightforward job (see picture 18).

The transport locks are present and will be used for safe shipping. In addition, we have secured the laser eye with some cloth to prevent it flopping around during transit (see pictures 19 & 20). The new owner will need to remove this before use but better safe than sorry.

This will be supplied to its new owner with original remote control, mains cable and a print-out copy of the original user manual.
