Not to be confused with the inferior Series 3S model, this original Series 3 is in beautiful condition and full working order. Bearings & geometry are fine, Arm raise/lower mechanism is nice and smooth and full left & right signal continuity from head-shell tags to RCA plugs.
The Series 3 comes with SME FD200 Fluid Damper fitted as standard. Pictures 13 & 14 describe the advantages of the FD200 Fluid Damper, which is fitted as standard on this model, but which is available as an upgrade add-on for other SME tonearms. With transport in mind, the silicone damping fluid has been removed. After you have fitted and set-up this tonearm, replacement damping fluid is available via eBay here
This comes in its original carton, along with everything you see in the pictures: A set of cartridge mounting nuts & bolts, 4 x bedplate fixing screws, a little spirit level and original signal output cable (with ground wire), fitted with SME RCA plugs. This also comes with its original Azimuth Adjustment Tool - which I forgot to include in the pictures.
The user manual is a print-out copy from our archives and will be emailed to the new owner on request, along with an exact size alignment protractor.
